The worldview of Communications

Through this site, you can navigate a world view through the lens of the Communications field. This site looks to highlight important aspects of the scholarly field of Communications. Communications is an impertinent, crucial and beneficial focus of study as it can be applied to and is integrated within a range of other fields, particularly in the social sciences and humanities. Communications is also a central aspect of human interaction that is experienced on a daily basis and therefore can be utilized as a highly valuable tool for navigating life if practiced correctly and knowfully. This is why much of the work that has been done within this discipline is academic in nature.

The reasons behind studying this discipline ranges among individuals. Those who have chosen to dedicate their lives to delivering the purpose of the Communications field, have done so in hopes to better understand the human nature and uncover the ways in which we, as a society can shape, create and extinguish particular realities, issues and conflicts within our world. These issues are cultural, religious, gender orientated, etc., and all existent based on formative language. Communication does more than just analyze the ways in which humans communicate through words, the field of Communications looks at how we communicate in various behaviors, attitudes, emotions and actions as well as how what we do not communicate also communicates. Moreover, Communications looks at how we construct our realities through communication, the social implications and effects of it and how we might possibly seek to change and re-construct it or create new realities entirely (Williams, 121). In that respect, Communications not only can shed new light on how we can move toward a better future, Communications also looks to reveal answers to do so that can be found in our past.
