Needless to say, this site alone is evidence and proof of the technology situated with Communications. I am using this medium to communicate the prominence and importance of technology within the field of Communications. Very much so like this site, the communication that takes place on social media sites via technology is one area of the field that is the subject of intense focus now and has been studied thoroughly within the past decade. There is a very strong correlation to technology and communications as most of the communication that we experience today is transmitted and received through modern day technology.
Technology in the Communications discipline is both utilized and analyzed. The ways in which technology advances influences the ways in which language grows and changes (for better of for worse). Technology based communications also reflects the technological aspects of communication such as aesthetics (using emojis, memes, snapchats, etc.,) and in what ways these influence or affect our daily communication patterns and behaviors. The aesthetic aspects and Electracy involved in communication via technology is interesting to note as it reflects a new area of study in which communications is once again, involved and pertinent to understanding further elements of human behavior given this emergent platform.
However, technology holds a place much more closer to technology than just analyzing the ways in which we communicate via it. Technology and Communications go hand in hand with innovation in regards to social progress. The importance of this is can be seen in the ways in which we develop Technology having the capabilities of changing and shaping the ways in which we communicate.
